recipe prepared, ready for the oven

chicken mornay

8 large fresh broccoli spears, cooked (or frozen broccoli spears)
8 large slices chicken breasts, cooked
3 cups mornay sauce
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon paprika

Arrange broccoli in a 9x13 baking dish. Cover with chicken. Top with grated cheese and pour mornay sauce over. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake in a 325 degree oven for about thirty minutes.

mornay sauce:

3 Tablespoons butter
3 Tablespoons flour
1 cup chicken stock
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup cream

To make sauce, melt butter slowly. Add flour, then chicken stock, stirring constantly. Add cayenne pepper and cheese. When cheese is melted, slowly add cream.
