I was surprised and excited to see this hawk fly low across the back yard this morning. He perched on the fence and that gave me time to grab my camera and get a couple photos. I'm guessing it's a red tailed hawk. I am used to seeing them perched in trees along the rural highways. This is a first spotting for me in suburbia.

Our small Oklahoma town employs a Parking Enforcement Officer, and there are no parking meters. Also, we have angled in parking rather than parallel parking.



The parking meter was invented in 1935 by Carl C. Magee in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The world's first installed parking meter was in Oklahoma City, OK on July 16, 1935.
