It's that time of the year when ranchers and farmers do controlled burns in their pastures and fields. The volunteer firefighters fight grass and wild land fires in the county and surrounding area. We went to a chili dinner fund raiser last Saturday to benefit the local volunteer fire department.

LMAO... yeh, my hubby got to chat it up with the volunteers this past weekend. Of course, we're laughing now. Hopefully we don't get any large bills in the mail.... I love this photo of the fire truck, wonderful shot. ;-)

About an hour after I posted this photo this morning, a friend called and said she'd have to cancel our night out tonight because her property was on fire. A neighbor's 'controlled burn' got out of control. She lives on eighty acres ~ and she got to visit with these volunteer firefighters too.
